This "who would you hire" argument is a strawman that distracts from the actual issue. Fact is, fans don't need to decide who to hire; Whit is paid millions of dollars to make that decision and you can be sure he has a short list. You can also be sure his decision to fire or keep Fu depends on whether he is confident he can hire someone who is likely to produce better results.
So stop with the repeated "who would you hire" silliness and make a case for why a coach with a .500 record against power 5 competition, whose greatest achievement is winning a division title with CFB's players and who has produced diminishing results each year should be retained. If you are okay with mediocrity or don't like change, just say so.
No one wants us to get in a cycle of replacing coaches every couple of years, but this is year six, not year 2, and the results plainly show it is not getting better.
The #2 spot in the ACC long term hierarchy is up for grabs now (maybe #1 if Clemson's downturn is greater than we expect) and Pitt and WF are the contenders for it, not VT. Are you freaking kidding me? Pitt and WF, but not VT????? How does that not tell you all you need to know about our program?
