because the folks we now sit with tend to celebrate VT football more than complain about everything they have paid good money to see.

Seems the closer you get to the 50 yard line, the more likely you are to have people sit at these games and drone continuously about anything they can find to complain about. Somehow they don't pay enough to actually make this program national champion caliber - yet they think pointing out that it's not will actually help it meet their expectation that it should be!

Back in the 2007s, I was horrified to have our own fans boo Glennon (to the point that his Mom couldn't even be in the stadium his senior year), but that just turned to people bitching about legendary Coach Beamer (to the point that he announced his retirement mid-season in 2015 so people would just shut up during the season). Now we've got the Fu haters in the middle of the 2021 season (and we are literally a couple plays from being undefeated).

This constant bitching does not help with recruiting, it demoralizes the players and staff, it doesn't help with ticket sales, it certainly doesn't help the game day experience in Blacksburg and, even more, it just doesn't help anything about VT athletics get better. Most of these very vocal complainers just revel in playing victim or acting superior. It's not cool and so very exhausting to put up with for the rest of us.....
