I think he has a very hard time overcoming his "prettiness". Really....

... I don't think he has shown the versatility or strong acting ability for his characters to be anything but pretty, or at least an undertone of pretty.

Von Staffenberg was an exception because 1) the German uniforms were so uber cool that it gave him an effective "anti-pretty" foil; and 2) because the makeup/eyepatch from being blown up in the desert really helped his character a lot.

And Stauffenberg actually was pretty too, if you think about it.
