All three of kids took different paths (small D2 school where he could study Engineering and play two sports, youngest at a D1 mid major with tremendous support, oldest in the Marines and GI Bill). I guess you make out of it what you want. I regret not going to a smaller school. Never felt like anyone at VT much cared about me beyond sending in that tuition check.
