The day the O's signed Albert Belle I gave up my mini-plan tickets.


At that time, Belle was the most hated man in baseball and a real locker room cancer. Angelos was pretty new as an owner then, and I knew if he was willing to sign archvillain BELLE that the Oriole Way (of team development) was dead, he was gonna take it apart.

I knew if he was willing to sign Belle he'd be willing to do ANYTHING inadvisable. 25 years later it turns out that I was spot on.
