We need to consider ND's viewpoint when making proposals


Any proposal to ND should start with what it does for them, not the other way around. To do anything else is just a waste of time.

What we need to do is provide them with something they like. An Alliance playoff could easily do that if we make sure it would benefit ND as much as the other Alliance members.

For example, if we fill the at-large Orange bowl slot with (the best team from ND/Big12/G5, which will very often be ND), and the winner then plays the winner of the Rose bowl for an Alliance "national" championship, then ND would probably want to be a part of that.

There ways to sweeten it, too. The at large slot could get filled by a play in game hosted by the best ND/Big12/G5 team, hosting the second best. ND could host that if they were the best team (basically a first round playoff game) in South Bend.

There is probably more you could do, but those are a couple that would benefit ND, and get them helping the Alliance and not the other side.
