I agree with stech here...


History shows that winning a conference championship gives a huge advantage to being selected.

With the SEC move, OK now has to fight for one of two potential max spots with all the other SEC teams? I think OK is maybe the biggest loser here, as their chances of making a 4 team playoff has just been reduced significantly. Same with UT.

I doubt a 1 loss SEC Oklahoma or Texas (that doesn't win the conference championship) gets the nod over a 1 loss Ohio State who wins their conference. Same with a 1 loss Clemson, or a 1 loss Penn State or 1 loss USC. So, if you have two or three 1 loss teams that win their conference in the non-SEC, that means there still is just 1 or 2 slots for the SEC.

Everything was fine in a 12 team playoff, but if it remains 4 teams that's going to hurt them.
