where guys are locked into contracts and you know what you have. With college athletics and people leaving early, transfer portal, graduation, staying eligible, etc. not sure it works.
Think about LSU this past year. They would have been listed as one of the top in the top tier but probably had no business being there with their personnel losses and coaching changes.
In theory, I like a system that rewards teams for playing tough games and winning with the threat of demotion if you are not consistent, I just don’t think this is it.
