20’ teams does make more sense than 16 if you want to do a 4-pod format. Everyone plays their pod members once, and everyone from another pod on a rotating basis - that’s a 9-game schedule right there (as opposed to 7 with a 16-team conference). As for the conferences themselves, as someone pointed out earlier - VT, NCSU, FSU, and Clemson to the SEC, and (after Iowa State and Kansas are added in the west) - UVA, UNC, Duke, and GT to the Big-10 (although I might replace GT with Pitt).
