People said Sarah Vaughn should have done opera..

but I liked her just the way she was. Saw her once at Newport Jazz at Saratoga. She made what became after comical (SyroGyra, remember them). Man, could she perform and have a large crowd there to see others that day like Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock eating out of her hand.
