The OP was about missed opportunities


The Metro missing out on adding football 40 years ago was a much bigger missed opportunity than the ACC not adding schools 50 years ago.

Especially when it was almost 15 years later(1984 court case, CFA est 1985) when the NCAA lost control of television rights, and then another about decade (early-mid 90's) from when the CFA lost control of the D-1 schools rights and conferences started negotiating their football broadcast deals.By 1984, the ACC had added GT (considered a "football school), and then added FSU (football school) in 1992 close to when the ACC schools dropped out of the CFA and negotiated their own deal.
