I think the head mentioned in the article brings it up to "modern" power


Wonder if Honda will get them for copying the K-series head?

Speaking of Honda K-series engines, those are becoming the "4-banger LSX" engine choice to transplant. I was on a E-30 BMW website, and someone had come up with a K-24 "bolt in kit" for E-30 3-series BMWs. A stock K-24A2 engine with a header and software tune puts out similar power (240 hp) to "stroked" E30 M3 engines, at ~1/8th the cost...maybe less. Those engines also respond well to boost. People are putting K-24s into a lot of different cars, from MGBs to BMWs.
