I think this is a case of power and money driving greed and this isn’t going to work out how many of the power players in college football think it will. The best point that guy makes is how all of this expansion is destroying the regional nature of college sports that made it great in the first place.

Most people watched college football because it wasn’t a pro sport. We are basically on the verge of creating another pro league.

These consolidated power leagues plus the NIL is really going to fundamentally alter the college sports landscape. I was a non-rev sport athlete for 5 years and what is shaping up now is something I’ve been afraid of, not only for the future of the non-Rev sports, but also for the future of football and basketball. This may not be a popular opinion on here, but whenever the dust settles, I actually hope that Virginia Tech finds itself on whatever side of the sports landscape that still leans towards amateur sports.
