Not surprising, the real fight right now is between AAC and B12 leftovers.

AAC has the chance to become the number 5 conference, but the B12 could poach from AAC and remain number 5. Of course the P5 no longer exists, so this is a battle for the top of the G6. Of course all of this is in flux, because the P5 doesn't become the P4 with the subtraction of B12. Instead we now have a P2a (SEC, B10) and a P2b (PAC, ACC). The resulting top G6 conference could try to make a case to join PAC and ACC. But the top four conferences have split in half due to money. On the field the ACC is not that far behind the B10, but without money I think there is a clear division. ACC's best hope is to somehow close the financial gap and rejoin the ranks of the B10. Which may be possible as the SEC now pulls away from the B10. The ACC will not be rejoining with the SEC. In the end we will have the SEC in a group alone. B10 and possibly ACC battling it out on a second level. PAC and some version of B12/AAC schools (assuming the PAC doesn't add some of these schools) on a third level. And then the rest of the conferences. That is how I see the future.
