I think that ship has sailed.


If the ACC had any real interest in WVU, conversations between the ACC and WVU would not have been so short in the past. Sure, the dynamics have changed a lot and WVU in 2021 is not the WVU of 2003 in culture or atmosphere, but the people that would make the choice have not changed - UNC, Wake Forest, Duke, UVA, possibly others.

While WVU would be a good move for the ACC, I do not think the ACC will make that choice when it is all said and done. I think the ACC thinks there is still a lot of time to make a wise decision and Notre Dame is always hovering on the fringe. Notre Dame of course is never coming into the ACC. The Play Off will always have a seat for them and there is no one other team any where that the ACC really wants to match up with WVU if they were to be 15 and 16.
