Father was a huge VMI fan and would take me to the Thanksgiving Day game


and Harvest Bowl games in the 60's at Victory Stadium in Roanoke. We would cheer for the Keydets, at least when I was younger, and then I slowly transitioned to a Hokie fan for later games. Didn't think he would ever forgive me. He came around eventually, cheering loudly when I accepted my diploma in Spring 1985 from the Pamplin College of Business. Neil Armstrong was the commencement speaker that year.
