Had a friend whose Dad was the local FBI agent

in Radford. For my friends 10th birthday, his Dad took us to a game back around '69 or '70. Turns out my friend's Dad went to VMI with the coach at VT at the time and they were old buddies who played football together there. Long story short, we were on the sidelines for a VT game. Things obviously were a lot different then. The biggest thing I remember about the game is an out pattern the other team ran that ended up ending right where we were all standing on the sideline and we got on the highlight show the next day. It looked like an explosion of 10 year old boys as we all jumped and ran out of the way.

I was a local kid anyway, but standing on the sideline of a college football game at 10 years old, I had no choice but to become a lifelong Hokie that day. It stuck. I'm 63 and I'm still here.
