My son's number two choice was VT (academics only)


Number 1 was Rice and he didn't get in.

But he got in to Tech, GT, UF, RPI, MD, Drexel and others for engineering. Tech offered him the least amount of money of any of them. His brother wanted to go to Tech too and they offered ZERO. He is on half scholarship at the University of Denver. It was very disappointing. They both got offered more by Maryland. Their mother's family let me hear about it (all MD grads).

He just graduated summa from UF. They offered a full scholarship including room and board. He's doing a 'gap year' there for his masters before he goes to Med school.

I can't complain about the education both are getting. Both are top notch for what they are doing. They are both enjoying where they ended up too and I love visiting Colorado. We also just bought a house in Gainesville so...it did work out after a bit of grumbling.
