As always, it depends on your interests/standards. It also depends on your


definition of "local restaurants." For something in the Mike's mode where taste/value trump appearance, I like Abby's, particularly on Friday (open face roast beef) and Saturday (fried pork chops). Of course, it is not quite downtown. Of the downtown restaurants, I guess I would go with the Cellar.

I rarely go downtown for dinner. If I do, it's a really casual night for something like a burger at Sharkey's. For something a little more upscale, I like driving to Christiansburg to sit outside at the Farmhouse.
