It was incredible success, to be sure! It is even more amazing that we


accomplished so much with offenses that were ranked in the bottom half of FBS most years. Again, I'd be thrilled with those results today! We had a great run and credit is due to Beamer for that. However, Stinespring never really showed the ability to field a great offense. I appreciate Beamer's loyalty -- it is a big part of his character and what makes him a unique man of integrity in an industry filled with people who have none. It's a big part of why Foster stayed with him when being wooed by bigger programs and more money. But it is also true that we would have likely accomplished even more if Beamer had been a bit more Machiavellian in his attitude toward the OC. It just is what it is.
