What would you do in this situation?

You go to the grocery store to get tonight's dinner. You see T-bone steaks on sale so you buy two big beautiful ones for you and your significant other.
You come home, put the groceries on the counter and go on your way. You come back around two hours later and realize you didn't put the steaks in the fridge. So you throw them in the freezer for about an hour and then the fridge.

Then you go on the internet and Google:
How long can steak sit out before cooking?
It says "The absolute maximum to leave a steak out before cooking is two hours".
Caveats: You're not really sure when you bought the steaks and brought them home so your time of leaving them out is an estimate. Could be more than two hours. Also, the steaks were sitting in the grocery bag still in the packaging and crammed next to other food.

Do you:
1. Assume there's typically a one hour buffer for food spoiling times and the steaks were still wrapped and not exposed to air. You go ahead and cook them. Don't tell the significant other.
2. Do the Walk of Shame and Tell your significant other what happened and ask her what you should do.
3. Throw the steaks away and go get Chinese take-out. Don't tell the significant other.

What would YOU do?
