Not to mention that the ERA is deceiving this year.

Tech's defense isn't very good. Against FSU, the left fielder flat out missed a fly ball, and a run scored. It was ruled a hit, and thus went down as an earned run, because he never touched the ball. That's one example. ERA can be deceiving.
