As bad as Bede was offensively, Joe was equally as lost defensively

Joe was certainly going to get better as he played...but every freshman in the country was 3 months behind where they would be normally

If VT wanted to compete, they needed to roll woth proven commodities...it was a strange year and there were casualties of it...this is one of them
