Dara Mabrey transferred out to Notre Dame this year and told NDInsider: “Notre Dame has everything I was looking for,” Mabrey said. “Competing for an (Atlantic Coast Conference) championship, competing for a national championship, the academics are great, the people are great. It feels like home in all those aspects.”

Notre Dame went 10-10 (8-7 ACC) and did not make the NCAA Tournament. VT went 14-9 (8-8) and did make the tournament.

I don't know enough about the details of her situation to know why she transferred out. I *think* it's because VT had her at the point, and she wanted to be a shooting guard, or vice versa. So the championship talk is just talk. It was really about her fit here at VT. Because she was getting plenty of playing time.
