I have no inside information, but from reading articles, I doubt

she had a committable offer from ND coming out of high school. Once she had one (and maybe was not 100 percent happy at Tech), she jumped at it. Also, her sister is on the ND staff, so I have to think that was a factor.

This is all innocuous conjecture on my part.
