Jim Crockett promotions, that show was filmed in TV studio in Raleigh
Crockett's brother David was a host, along with announcer Bob Caudle.
The regional promotion of Mid-Atlantic, was its own entity, as were plenty of regional promotions at that time. But it fell under the umbrella of the NWA, National Wrestling Alliance.
Then Turner bought up a bunch of them and made WCW. Georgia Championship Wrestling was part of what Turner combined with Mid Atlantic, to form the WCW.
McMahon, Jr did the same with WWE, formerly WWF, which originally was WWWF, or World Wide Wrestling Federation. That one was started by his dad.
And there was the AWA, which was more popular in the mid west.
The regional promoters like Jim Crockett made bank, when Turner and McMahon went national.
