Interfering with the goalie in that situation is still called

What's NOT called is merely being in an offsides position -- say, on the other side of the goal -- when a shot is taken and goes it. The officials are making more of an effort to determine if the offsides player actually affected the play than just being there. It was getting into idiotic calls like an offensive player being down on the ground behind the end line grabbing his ankle while a goal is scored -- and the goal being disallowed because of the injured player.
