The #2 pitcher is certainly going to be an interesting storyline - especially with limited out of conference opportunities.

Ivy Rosenberry had a strong fall, reportedly hitting close to 70 on the gun. Mackenzie Osborne has a lot of movement on her pitches and a good fall. And Kaylee Hewitt had some good outings last year, but was battling some injuries in the fall (pet D1 Softball).

And remember Keely pitched over 70% of the innings last year. I remember being worried driving to Charlottesville for game 3 of the series since she had pitched the first two games against the Hoos and logic would expect them to have them dialed in versus her. She the proceeded to no hit them in that third game. Silly me!

I could see Keely pitching Game 1 on the doubleheader day and the game 2 starter being on a short leash - especially early in the season.

As for who we miss in the conference this year, I think I remember Coach Pete saying UVA was in that rotation this year, but that we would still play them as out-of-conference opponents. I could be totally wrong, and things may have changed with all the Covid craziness. I guess we'll know soon enough when the schedule is released.
