Movies.... 2001 A Space Odyssey and Dr. Strangelove.....

I decided to watch some movies over the holidays, and I checked out the so-called Top 100 movies of all time and made a list. I enjoyed Citizen Kane, Taxi Driver, Usual Suspects, Chinatown, and a few others. However, I thought 2001 A Space Odyssey and Dr. Strangelove were simply awful. How these are top 100 movies is beyond me. I did read the summaries afterwards. Maybe I'm just not a symbolism person. According to Roger Ebert, Dr. Strangelove was one of the funniest dark comedies of all time. I just didn't get it.
