Well,

Muffin McGraw didn’t want her. So, VT was next best.
Muffin leaves, there’s now a new coach, and Mabrey’s sister is an assistant coach.
Mabrey transfers and apparently there’s some bullshit rule or waiver about transfers to where a relative is coaching. Maybe the sister has some mysterious ailment like her nose bleeds once in a blue moon. The NCAA is full of bs anyway.....
So, that’s how she winds up playing.
