Should be 1/2 inch diameter rebar driven in the ground at each corner. I

had to rent a metal detector to find mine.
My backyard neighbor built his fence 3 feet inside the property line; on my side. He was a little peeved when he saw the fencing company taking it down. He claimed the previous owners of the homes had agreed the fence could stay but had not bothered to put anything on paper. On top of that, there was no record of a fencing permit issued to his address, as required by the county. He tried to claim the "understanding" was still binding. The county said otherwise.
Basically, I was paying taxes based on square footage that included his three feet. After the new fence was built 6 inches inside my side of the property, I never saw or spoke to him again. That house has changed ownership since then.
