All the B1G needed to do was let those that wanted to play to proceed.


Kevin Warren could have said when Nebraska first pushed this issue that the Big Ten isn't going to proceed, but since the league isn't that Nebraska could do so on their own in 2020 and can return to the Big Ten in 2021 when the league resumes.

It would have been Nebraska's responsibility to put together an independent schedule for at least 10 games or so. It would have been Nebraska's responsibility to contract out for Officials to work the games. The Big Ten could have facilititated those that might be interested in working games to do so independent of the conference.

If he had done that, there would be no pressure on the other members to play when they don't want to, and perhaps Ohio State would have joined Nebraska for at least that 1 game. The circus would not even have been an issue.
