Well the danger could be that it makes COVID worse despite

being safe for other treatments.

A concrete example of generally safe but with a COVID caveat would be the generally safe and used for decades ventilator which has now been blamed for excess deaths from overuse.

There are all sorts of generally safe medicines that aren't safe under specific condition X.
