Good question. I have a feeling that if it is proposed
many schools and fans that think this is an awesome idea right now, will not be so excited when they find out that their school was under the cutoff line. They will have been for it before they were against it.
I have no inside knowledge. But I think it would be interesting if the bluebloods broke away and made they own super conference of, say 20 schools. Have a N & S or E & W division. Division winners play in the Rose Bowl for the national title. They could do bowls if they want. But the regular season would be epic clashes every weekend--massive ratings.
I also think it would be cool to have a promotion and relegation system. For example, the last place team in the N and S get sent down. And the lower division gets to promote two teams to the blueblood conference. Can you imagine the drama of getting sent down or moving up? Also massive ratings.
