I agree mankind should be skipping a few steps so hopefully the damage

should be different. The reason I said "hopefully" is because we don't know what organisms mankind could encounter on the new planet. Likewise, we don't know what impact humans could have on their environment. Yes mankind will skip the early stages of human evolution. However, mankind could approach the new planet with the same attitude that it had on Earth during the 1800s, 1900s, or even now.

Just think of how many organisms (i.e. plants, animals, etc.) have gone extinct since the 1600s due to human activity. In addition to loss of organisms, mankind may have also lost knowledge too. I am not sure if you ever saw the movie "Medicine Man" with Sean Connery and Lorraine Bracco, but that could be an example of knowledge that has been lost due to human activity. There are other examples throughout history (i.e. the destruction of the library at Alexandria, the Dark Ages, etc.) where mankind has lost knowledge because of the decisions that were made at the time.
