How difficult is it to "adjust" a current Shimano 105 front derailleur?

On this morning's ride, the bike shifted down between the two front cogs. I hit the shifter, and dropped it fully onto the smaller cog, but it wouldn't "upshift" back into the large one. I think the cable slipped, but I haven't diagnosed that as the actual problem.

It's a "click" shifter, which is integrated into the brake handle.

Called the Trek dealer, and they can't get to my bike today or tomorrow, and said the best bet would be to just drop it off and they would get to it when they could...who knows how many days of riding I'll lose waiting for it to return?
