You can program a brain like you can program a computer.

I used to think it wasn’t possible, that it was a Hollywood fantasy. But eventually I learned that not only is it possible, it’s fairly easy. Various accounts of POW camps show the way.

Ask someone, “What color is the sky?” They’ll say “Blue”. Zap them with a small electric current and tell them, “No, the sky is orange”. Make sure it’s a small zap, not a big one.

Ask them again, “What color is the sky?” They’ll say “Blue”. Zap them again and tell them “No, the sky is orange”.

Continue the cycle. Eventually the person will say “Okay, okay the sky is orange” but they won’t actually believe it. They’ll just do it to avoid the pain.

Now you’ve accomplished Ratchet Level 1.

On to Ratchet Level 2. Continue asking them “What color is the sky?” and anytime they show hesitation or doubt about the answer, zap them. It’s no longer about what answer they give (Ratchet Level 1) but rather the manner in which they provide the answer (Ratchet Level 2 = enthusiasm and lack of hesitation when answering).

Eventually, they’ll start BELIEVING the sky is orange.

Keep going and they’ll enthusiastically tell all their friends that the sky is orange (Ratchet Level 3).

Continue the zaps and you’ll eventually reach incredible levels of programming. You’ll have them willing to murder their friends and family for the wrong answer (ratchet level 10).

This is how you can program a human brain and make it your piece of software carrying out your instructions.

A couple of key points:

1. You don’t even have to zap them strongly. In fact, it won’t work if you zap them strongly. A light zap is much preferable. You have to go slow. Otherwise they wake up from their programming and rebel.

2. Eventually you don’t even have to zap them.
