for those sports would cover the other sports travel costs. Their basketball programs would suffer the most. But there are downsides to any change. Offset by much more money. Probably enough to pay all their athletes.

I think the remaining NCAA schools would still be fine in basketball. They would still have the tradition schools, the cinderella schools and the numbers. The breakaway schools would essentially be just one or two conferences and couldn’t have a real tourney to compete “post-season”. Just a conference tourney and championship game.

As to NIL issues for the remaining schools, I think the pressure would be off. Has there been NIL pressure on the FCS schools? I really don’t know but haven’t heard any. But you pose interesting questions.
