I'm not an expert. I just think it would be better for him to ensure his


basic diet is as healthy as possible before springing for supplements. The average American probably already consumes far more protein than they really need (including athletes). If you do look at protein shakes, make sure you look at other ingredients, including the amount of sugars they have. Calculate how far he has to run to work off those extra calories.
