That is almost unlikely enough to warrant a "moon made of ribs" question


If, and that's a big "if," it turns out to have lab origin, it's far more likely to have been something akin to an adversarial test dummy for research towards a vaccine or treatment for some other kind of disease.

Besides, supposing that their government did take a view of the elderly as the "Unnütze Esser" that you intimate perhaps unknowingly, and they were viewed as a drain on resources that could no longer be tolerated. Don't you think they would sooner just stop spending those resources on the elderly, leaving them to fend for themselves and naturally die off, than to introduce something with enormous collateral damage?
