Per Coach Brooks


Dara was unhappy with her role. He said this on the WBB teleconference. The following Twitter quote by WUVT's David Cunningham from the teleconference:

"Brooks on Dara Mabrey announcing to enter the transfer portal: 'There was no message. It was by text. I knew there was a strong possibility that it would happen… I knew she was unhappy with her role.' On Mabrey: 'She wanted something that we couldn’t provide… she had the desire to be a point guard.' Brooks said “we’re fine.”'

I'm not being critical of Coach Brooks here. It sounds like we was OK with Mabry leaving. There is obviously more to the story. I had assumed Mabry would be VT's point guard, at least part of the time. I assume he has a plan. I wonder what that plan is?
