while holding tightly onto their past. Historically Black Conferences and schools have discovered they can't compete with the other conferences. Also, HBCUs have found for certain sports (i.e. baseball, softball, maybe tennis, etc) that not enough blacks play the sport, so they are forced to sign other minorities and even white students in order to compete in the sport. It would not surprise me if the MEAC and/or SWAC either disappear or are forced to change their image as a Historically Black Conference.
