The existence of replay has changed officiating


Now officials are more slack about getting the call right, because they know replay will fix whatever they do...unless it's not conclusive, and then the initial call becomes EXTREMELY important.

The late KC TD in the Super Bowl is a prime example. No replay angle clearly showed whether or not he made the TD so they had to default to the original call. Had the call been 'no TD' the series might have ended in a FG.
