About the tiebreaker...
The NCAA tiebreaker is to "score" each of the tied team's runners head-to-head. Our first guy beat their first guy (1st/12th), our second guy beat their second guy (7th/20th), our third guy beat their third guy, and their 4th and 5th beat our 4th and 5th, so we won the tiebreaker 3-2. I think they put this tiebreaker in around 2013.
At the 6k mark, it was ND and Syracuse with 67 points, and we were right there with 68, but we had a couple guys fade in the last 2k. Incredible race from Peter to blow away a field as deep at the ACC by 39 seconds. For comparison that 39 second gap between Peter and Nuguse (btw, Nuguse was the NCAA champ last spring at the 1500) was the same as the gap between 2nd and 23rd.
