Things should get interesting when all the P-5 conferences renegotiate their TV deals. 16 seems like the 'magic number'. If so, Notre Dame will have to finally listen to God's calling and join the ACC for all sports (I can say that as a practicing Roman Catholic. ha ha). Then the ACC simply adds one more school.

If the ACCN network numbers compare to the SECN and BTN in 5 years or so, the ACC needs to make a bold move and go after ACC-like schools Florida, Georgia, and Penn State. If the BTN and SECN continue to blow away the ACCN 5 years from now, the SEC or Big Ten may be interested in adding 2 ACC schools to get to the 'magic' 16. I doubt UVA or UNC ever leave the ACC. They are as ACC as you can get. I can see Georgia Tech making a move since it's easy flying in and out of Atlanta from all the Big 10 schools. NC State could make a bold move and make a name for themselves like Texas A&M has. NCSU will always be the #3 ACC school in the Triangle. Tech's AAU aspirations may become a reality sooner if they joined the Big Ten since 14 members (including U. of Chicago) of that conference are AAU members. If Tech's Innovation campus in Alexandria becomes a huge success, its value to the Big Ten presidents may increase too. Tech's 40-year plan is Big Ten institution inspired. If you don't believe me, go look at the 40-year plan yourself. Things on this board are rather boring right now, but should begin to be rocking in 5-6 years.
