Eliminating the "South's Oldest Rivalry" (aka UNC-UVA)

is a non-starter. Also, there is no reason to eliminate the 1 protected cross-division game when both divisions have 7 members because the remaining 6 could rotate in 3 pairs of 2. If the ACC is going to re-align the divisions, then it should be based on these "natural" pairings while keeping the "South's Oldest Rivalry" and the "Textile Bowl" (aka Clemson-NC State) in mind.

BC-Syracuse
Pitt-L'ville
VT-UVA
Duke-Wake
UNC-NC State
Clemson-GT
FSU-Miami

A more reasonable realignment would probably look something like this:

Atlantic/Coastal
Syracuse-BC
L'ville-Pitt
VT-UVA
Wake-Duke
NC State-UNC
Clemson-GT
FSU-Miami or Miami-FSU

BC and Pitt should probably be in the same division and in the opposite division to Clemson so both divisions have their own "island." What I mean is that Clemson's division won't have a member in GA to connect with the FL school, so it is only fair for the other division to have a similar gap between BC and Pitt.
