Very sad. Still can't believe he survived that accident, so...

...he had probably been living on borrowed time. He was one of the true greats in the sport.

Highly recommend the movie Rush about his F1 battles with Jim Hunt for the F1 title. It will give you an idea of the struggles he went through to survive that crash.
