Did a lot of spelunking when I was a kid, kinda an extension of Boys Scouts

Same group of friends were pretty adventurous, kept together for a while after scouts timed out. (I'm not claiming to be the leader of this adventurousness) Had these handbooks of caves of West Virginia, caves of Maryland, caves of Virginia. there are thousands of them. Did quite a few of them, even the walk to them was pretty adventurous. Did it w/the old carbide lamps made of brass.

Sorry, not sure where I'm going with this, them's were the days I guess and I could pretty well imagine what was going on, did they get lost? tired out (but not one guy?) Yeah, it felt a little claustrophobic at times, nothing like coming out covered in mud, in a constant 54 degree environment.
