On that topic, Notre Dame has made the tourney 20 years in a row


That's a pretty good run - even if they did need help last year.

It may have come down to the Irish and Pitt last year. ND had an RPI of 43, Pitt was 48. The Panthers also won the Costal Division and made it to the ACC conference championship game, while the Fighting Irish were bounced in the semifinals. The Panthers were winners of 12 out of their last 13 games going into the championship game, while Notre Dame was a floundering 4-7 in their last 11 games.

Yet, ND got the bid.
