Poll for parents of kids that play travel/select sports

There's a time conflict between a house playoff game (Semifinals), or one game of a 3-4 game travel/select tournament.

as a parent, what do you do?
Does the travel coach have a right to push the players to the travel game?
Does anyone feel like the players have some sort of obligation to the house team that they've played on all season?
Do the non-soccer house parents have reason to be bitter to the soccer parents if the season ends on a forfeit?

backstory - 5th girls hoops in Richmond. Basketball teams is in danger of having to forfeit due to loss of soccer players and illness. As of now, they have four definites for Saturday. No chance of sick player healing in time. My kids have not played travel, so I don't have a personal feel for it, other than talking to other parents. If it matters, basketball team did not have the great year, but advanced to semifinals with big upset over top seeded first place team. I am not a coach or a parent involved in this game, but heard about it and have been trying to understand it. I'm firmly in the "house playoff game" camp.
